My Story

Fin was born with a severe congenital heart defect called Ebsteins Anomaly. He has literally been fighting for his life for the last 19 years. 3 major open heart surgeries later, and he has been sent for heart transplant assessment. Refusing to accept that this is Fins only chance now, we contacted a world leading expert in the US, Dr Dearani at the Mayo Clinic. He kindly reviewed all of Fins notes and felt like there was something that he could do. Despite Fins condition being exceptionally rare and at the most severe end of the spectrum, he believes that he can help to re repair his now failing heart. This would give him a bridge before he has to accept a transplant, and an extra 5/10/15 years even. 
As a parent, what do you want for your child other than a long, happy and healthy life? This is all we want for Fin, and this operation would give him the chance to have this, before going down the path of heart transplantation.

Originally, the estimate for the surgery was just under £200,000. That cost has now been updated with a more detailed estimate of £250,000. This is however, the quote for the basic surgery, without any hiccups or issues whilst we are over there.
