About us
Red Sky Foundation supports babies, children and adults living with complex heart conditions. We provide essential funding for vital cardiac machinery, equipment and care to help save every heartbeat.
Founded in 2020, North East couple Sergio and Emma Petrucci MBE set up Red Sky Foundation to ‘give back’ after their daugher, Luna, received life-saving open heart surgery in the Children’s Heart Unit at the Freeman Hospital in Newcastle Upon Tyne. On the morning of Luna’s operation, the sunrise filled the sky with fire and that’s where the Red Sky story began. As Luna made a complete recovery, a promise was made to help other families and have a positive impact on the health of so many people affected by heart related illnesses.
Having raised over £1 million, the charity has funded huge projects to provide world-class heart scanning machines, salaries of specialist nurses, hundreds of public access defibrillators, demonstrated CPR skills to thousands of people in schools and local communities, yet Red Sky Foundation still does so much more.
“The success of Red Sky Foundation is only made possible by the love and support we receive from thousands of individuals. They come together doing incredible things from donating money to taking part in various fundraising challenges and events. We’ve created an army of fundraisers, supporters and beneficiaries... We call them #TeamRedSky!”
